Reports to: Assistant Trainer and 2IC/Foreperson
Hours:
Mon - Sat: 4:45am - 11:00am
Every third Sunday: 05:00am - 11:00am
Location: Euroa, Victoria | Fulltime

About the Role
As a Barn Leader, you will play a key role in the daily operations of your assigned barn, combining hands-on horsemanship with staff leadership, supervision and operational responsibilities.
Working closely with the Assistant Trainer and Senior Foreperson, you will ensure the highest standards of horse welfare, workplace safety, staff performance and operational efficiency are consistently maintained.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, supervise and mentor barn staff, fostering a positive and productive team environment.
Oversee daily barn operations, including horse care, feeding, grooming, washing and general stable duties.
Allocate tasks, monitor performance and ensure operational standards are maintained.
Support the training and development of new and existing team members.
Maintain high standards of horse welfare, workplace safety and stable presentation.
Communicate effectively with management and staff to ensure smooth daily operations.
Lead by example, demonstrating professionalism, accountability and a strong work ethic.

Maintaining high standards of horse care and welfare
Leading, supervising and mentoring barn staff
Allocating daily duties and ensuring tasks are completed
Maintaining a clean, organised and safe barn
Communicating daily priorities, procedures and safety requirements
Working closely with the Assistant Trainer, 2IC and wider Lindsay Park team
About You
We are looking for someone who brings:
Strong horsemanship skills and experience within a thoroughbred racing or professional stable environment.
Proven leadership ability or the potential to develop into a strong team leader.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A genuine commitment to horse welfare and workplace safety.
The ability to remain calm, organised and solution-focused in a busy environment.
A proactive approach, strong work ethic and willingness to lead by example.
A positive attitude towards mentoring staff and building a supportive workplace culture.
