Euroa - Head Of Staff Training

Location: Euroa, Victoria

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate staff induction, onboarding and ongoing training programs.

  • Develop and implement practical training procedures, competency checklists and operational standards.

  • Provide hands-on coaching, mentoring and guidance to new and existing staff.

  • Work closely with barn leaders to promote consistency, accountability and best practices across barn operations.

  • Coordinate new starter competency assessments and two-week performance reviews.

  • Reinforce workplace health and safety, horse welfare, hygiene and biosecurity standards.

  • Conduct regular barn inspections, identify areas for improvement and follow up on corrective actions.

  • Support management in maintaining compliance, improving operational efficiency and fostering a positive workplace culture.

  • Ensure clear communication of workplace expectations, procedures and mandatory standards.

About You

We are looking for someone who demonstrates:

  • Strong experience in thoroughbred racing, equine operations or a comparable animal-care environment.

  • Excellent horsemanship skills and a sound understanding of horse welfare, stable procedures and workplace safety.

  • Proven leadership, staff training or supervisory experience.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate confidently and constructively across all levels of the business.

  • A genuine passion for mentoring, coaching and developing others.

  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.

  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach to identifying and improving workplace practices.

  • The ability to lead by example and promote a professional, respectful and supportive team environment.
