Strategic-Stormy Choice two-year-old colt
This magnificent looking colt is one for the breeding buffs. He is bred on the same Strategic/Danehill cross that produced the ill-fated Meurice (winner of G1 AJC Champagne Stakes and place-getter in the G1 Golden Slipper and G1 AJC Sires Produced and G1 performer Illuminates. This cross has received a rare A+++ ‘Werk Nick Rating’.
Strategic is the sire of over almost 450 winners including the G1 winning sprinter Mistegic, Strategic News and Fair Embrace. As a racehorse, Strategic won his first five starts (including 3 Group races) at two, and then went on the win the G1 MVRC Australia Stakes (1200m) and ran second in the G1 Lightning Stakes (1000m) at three.
This colt is out Stormy Choice (by Champion Sire Redoute’s Choice). Stormy Choice is a three-quarter sister to Danestorm (G1 Brisbane Cup winner) and the stakes-placed Danesty. The female family is littered with G1 performers including Copperama (winner of G1 VATC One Thousand Guineas), Danendri, Banc de Fortune and VRC Oaks winner Faint Perfume. Both Danendri and Faint Perfume were named Australian Champion 3yo filly of their respective seasons.
This colt has done very well in his breaking and education at Lindsay Park Euroa and will enjoy a short spell before being prepared for the early two-year-old races.
