Flemington Stables

Flemington Racecourse is home to Australia’s most famous race “The Melbourne Cup”, and the scene of many great racing achievements for the Hayes family. Lindsay Park’s metropolitan facility for the Lindsay Park Racing Stable is located on this course.

A practical training complex designed in 1998 by the late Colin Hayes, it comprises 60 stables, 14 outdoor yards with shelters, walking machine, galloping treadmill, sand rolls, wash bays, pastured paddocks as well as a racing office with client entertainment areas. Our horses work on one of the eight Flemington training tracks (grass, viscoride and sand) and also have access to the equine swimming pool.

The Flemington stable is used as a base for our horses that race in Melbourne and the southern Victorian provincial races to reduce travelling time on race day. We also find it useful to expose our young horses to a mixture of the peaceful country environment and the busy training tracks of the city during their education to ensure they are well prepared for their racing careers ahead.
